Parents’ Forum – Building Strong School‑Home Partnerships

I’m excited to join this Parents Forum on EngagementHQ and connect with other parents, teachers, and community members who care about improving parental engagement in our schools.

Here are a few topics I’d love to discuss and get your thoughts on:

1. Effective Communication Channels
   What communication methods has your school used (newsletters, WhatsApp, meetings, parent portals), and which ones do you think work best for keeping parents informed and involved?

2. Parent Involvement Activities
   How can schools design parent‑engagement activities that feel meaningful — not just “come to a meeting,” but real collaboration? For example: helping with projects, being part of school decision-making, or co‑creating educational programs.

3. Barriers to Engagement
   For many families, time, work, or language can make it hard to participate. What challenges have you faced, and what ideas do you have to make engagement more accessible for all parents?

4. Sustaining Engagement Over Time
   It’s great when parents are involved initially, but how do we make sure engagement doesn’t fizzle out? What kinds of long-term parent‑engagement programs have you seen or been a part of?

5. Feedback & Influence
   Do parents at your school feel like their feedback actually leads to change? How can schools close the loop so parents know that their voices are being heard and respected?
